Hello guys, Johnny Reid here, Ben's bro.
I am selling my 2001 2.7lb weight 19" MCM Team frame. She is fully stripped ready for for some lovely parts to be fitted on to restore the beautiful frame to its former glory.
This frame in particular only did one years racing and has been hanging up since mid 2002 completely unused since. I REALLY REALLY looked after it, again anyone who knows me also knows that. In 2001 it won the all Ireland's and Northern Ireland league and champs and also competed in the Europeans and finished 3rd in the British Champs. Anyone who knows me will know that anyway.
She is still in what any normal person would call very good condition and as most people know, the MCM is a very durable ROCKETSHIP when built up with good components.
The reason I am selling it is because I cannot afford to build it up with the parts that it deserves, and i would never be happy building it with parts that do not deserve to be on it. Therefore I will need to sell it to get myself a complete bike of a much lower class. Thinking of buying a new bike around £400 or something just to get me out again. A hell of step down from a bike that was £3,000 in 2001! In 2001 to buy the frame alone was £900, therefore I think that around £300 is a reasonable price surely, especially given that it has done such low mileage and is still in really good order. I have done my research and I can see them selling for £400 pounds sterling etc, and that is why i have came to this price. For anyone interested and willing to pay the right money I do have other bits and pieces that I might consider throwing in.
I have attached an image of a new one the same - mine just looks the same only with a wee scratch or two after one years riding
Anyway, thanks to anyone who has looked at this. I am in Bangor nowadays and you can get me on 02891459484 or text 07749950189
Cheers, JR
